Press Release: Parknav Integrates Vinli’s Connected Car Platform
Integration adds additional real-time open street parking data for Vinli and Parknav users
Chicago and Dallas – March 9, 2016 – Parknav, the global leader in real-time on-street parking availability data, today announced that it has partnered with Vinli to integrate its connected car on-board diagnostics (“OBD”) device into the Parknav app in order to provide users with additional real-time street parking data in many major U.S. cities.
“Real-time information generated directly from the vehicle will provide drivers with immediate open on-street parking options,” says Jeremy Leval, Director of Product at Parknav. “With this integration, Vinli and Parknav users in the U.S. will now be able to see more real-time on-street parking options nearby while saving time when looking for parking.”
Additionally, Vinli users will also be able to use the Parknav app to navigate back to their parked vehicle via Parknav’s “Find my car” feature.
“Parknav is taking a unique and innovative approach to improving the parking experience in major metro areas,” says Shayne O’Sullivan, Developer Relations at Vinli. “Incorporating Vinli’s rich vehicle telemetry data will only improve this experience for Parknav users.”

As the world’s first open platform for connected car apps, Vinli has only begun to explore these possibilities. Spinning out of the Dialexa Labs incubator in 2014, Vinli officially launched on the TechCrunch Disrupt Battlefield stage. The company is now backed by some of the largest automotive and tech companies including Samsung, Cox Automotive, Continental, The Westly Group, and First Round Capital. The company is headquartered in Dallas, Texas, USA.
